Earlier this week, former Green Bay Packers TE Mark Chmura said he'd "bet his bottom dollar" that Jermichael Finley's NFL career was over. Finley disagreed.
On Thursday, Finley underwent successful spinal fusion surgery, and according to the NFL Network's Andrea Kremer, he was up and walking around that afternoon.
Finley returned to Green Bay on Friday, and he anticipates a 3-4 month recovery period - certainly nothing to take lightly, but much, much better than the previously-mentioned alternative. Finley took to his personal Twitter account Friday morning to address his status, and take a shot at Chmura:
Morning TwitterWorld! Moving Around Like A Beast! Thanks For All The Love & Care. #FinleyStrong

His second tweet (since deleted) was captured by Packers columnist Jason Wilde:
RT @JermichaelF88 For All Craziness That's Going Around "I'm Not Done With The Game Of FootBall".Thanks To "Dr. Mark Chumra" For False Story

After a traumatic couple of weeks, it looks like Jermichael Finley is on the road to recovery. Best wishes to Finley, and we look forward to seeing him back on the field in 2014.
