The Green Bay Packers haven't missed the playoffs since 2008. With Aaron Rodgers still at the helm, this year should be no different. Here are four reasons the Packers are guaranteed to make the playoffs.
1. Preseason Super Bowl Favorite
The Packers are the current favorites in Vegas to win the Super Bowl, at 11-2 odds. The last time the preseason Super Bowl favorite missed the playoffs was in 2008, when the Patriots lost Tom Brady in the first game of the season.
2. Youth At Corner
Tramon Williams and Davon House may have left in free agency, but the Packers still have solid options at corner. Green Bay still has Sam Shields, Casey Hayward and Demetri Goodson, but they spent their first two draft picks on defensive backs. Damarious Randall from Arizona State was the first rounder and Quinten Rollins from Miami (Ohio) was taken in round two. Both are versatile players who could move to safety if needed. Rollins had an interesting route to the NFL, spending his first four years at Miami playing point guard for the RedHawks' basketball team before switching to football. His upside is as high as any corner in his draft class.
3. Loaded Weapons On Offense
Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb are already two of the more prolific WRs in the NFL. Eddie Lacy has played great since the Packers took him in the NFL Draft. But those aren't the only weapons for the Packers on offense. Davante Adams was a second round pick out of Fresno State, and might be ready to breakout after showing promise late in his first year. The Packers also took Stanford WR Ty Montgomery in the third round of this year's draft, because why not have more weapons.
4. Aaron Rodgers
Having the best QB in the NFL makes getting to the postseason a lot easier.
