The Green Bay Packers dropped to 3-2 on the season with a loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, but have a quick turnaround with a chance to get back on track Thursday night against the Chicago Bears. Here are three reasons why the Packers - the heavy favorites - are guaranteed to win the game:
3) Chicago's lackluster offense
Green Bay's defense has been fairly reliable this season despite dealing with several injuries, and the good news for them is that the Bears have proven they won't be able to take advantage. They rank second to last in the league in points scored, and have scored more than 17 points just once this season. Even if the Packers' offense struggles, Chicago's offense still won't be able to keep up with them.
2) Bears road woes
At 1-5, the Bears have been terrible all season, but they've been especially bad on the road. In their three games away from Soldier Field (all losses), they've lost by an average of 10 points per game. Green Bay is arguably better than any one those teams, so it only seems fitting for Chicago's losses to continue.
1) Home team Thursday Night advantage
It's difficult for every team to prepare for a Thursday night game on a short week, but it's even harder for the road team. Since the induction of Thursday night games in 2006, road times win far less than 40 percent of the time, compared to around 45 percent in all other games. That certainly bodes well for the Packers, who already have a huge homefield advantage at Lambeau.
