The 2015 NFL Trade Deadline is only a few hours away, which means the Green Bay Packers' front office has a very small window if they want to get a deal done before Tuesday afternoon. With that in mind, here are 3 Packers Trade Rumors You Need To Know Before The Deadline.
Sorry, But No J.J. Watt
As awesome as is it would be, Watt won't be joining the Packers before the deadline. The Texans are a QB and healthy key players away from being a true AFC South threat, and trading away Watt would blow up the team. The Packers would have to cough up at least three first rounders, which will all be at the end of the first round. The Packers could afford Watt's contract for now, but maybe not in the long-term. This is deal is nothing more than a pipe dream, although it would incredible to see Twitter break if the deal goes down.
Vinny Curry A Fit?
The Packers could use some extra pass rushing help (as could most teams in the NFL) and Curry is reportedly on the block. Chip Kelly said that's not the case, but that's exactly what he's supposed to say. Now, before we get too far, Curry hasn't been linked to any specific teams. However, the Packers make sense and Curry could be a fit in Green Bay. While Curry is better in a 4-3 than a 3-4 defense, the Packers run enough dime and nickel looks that Curry could contribute. Don't expect Curry to head to Green Bay, but it does make some sense
Add A Tight End?
The Packers have been rumored to be in the market for a tight end since Jermichael Finley's career ended. Green Bay hasn't pulled the trigger on any well-known players, but perhaps that could change at the deadline. Cook may or may not be on the block, but if he is moved, the Packers fit as a destination. The Rams want to give Lance Kendricks more playing time and Cook hasn't lived up to his contract. The Rams shouldn't expect more than the late rounder the 49ers got for Davis, and that's a price the Packers could be willing to pay.
