The Zags sent Casey Legumina to the hill while USD countered with Paul Richan. Legumina would look to build upon recent success from his previous few starts.
The freshmen was able to do just that as he turned in a respectable performance going seven innings, giving up six hits, four runs (three earned), and two walks, adding six strikeouts along the way.
“I’m just going to keep going forward, doing what I’ve been doing. It’s been working” Legumina said. He attributed his recent string of success to “keeping his mind on just baseball”.
After struggling with his command in the first inning and giving up one run off a Riley Adams single that scored Hunter Mercado-Hood, Legumina settled in.
