A 41-game home winning streak and a 22-game winning streak in 2014-2015 were both snapped, and to make matter worse, the Zags were honoring three starters — Kevin Pangos, Gary Bell Jr. and Byron Wesley — on senior night.
While last season’s loss was heartbreaking for Gonzaga, seeking revenge on the Cougars has not been the emphasis in practice.
“We are just worried about this year,” senior forward Kyle Witljer said. “There’s obviously new players and a new look for each team.”
The Cougars are without three-time first team all-WCC player Tyler Haws, who graduated, and only three players from this roster —Kyle Collinsworth, Chase Fischer and Corbin Kaufusi — played in BYU’s upset over GU in the Kennel.
