Fifth-year forward Yvonne Ejim led the way with 23 points and 12 rebounds as the Gonzaga women’s basketball team cruised to a 79-34 exhibition win over The College of Idaho on Friday night.
While Ejim stood out as the only returning starter from last season's Sweet 16 squad, the Bulldogs have a roster full of newcomers still adjusting to their roles.
Sophomore guard Claire O’Connor, one of five returners, said the team is still learning how to play together.
“I thought we came out, we played hard, we tried to play together, O’Connor said. “I mean, obviously it's a new group this year, so anytime you get on the court together, it's just a great experience and a chance to learn.
