Women's tennis: Gonzaga cruises to victory over Idaho

After splitting last weekend’s road trip in Tempe, Arizona, the Gonzaga women’s tennis team returned home to face the University of Idaho on Saturday. After barely defeating the Vandals last February, the Zags looked strong on the court and captured a 6-1 victory.

“For us to come out here and put 6-1 up on the board was great,” head coach D.J. Gurule said of the Zags’ win over the Vandals. “The matches were pretty tight, but I think it showed our fitness, which is a huge part of what we do.”

Starting off the day with doubles, the Zags quickly earned a point due to the play of Nevada Apollo and Ashleigh Jacobs, as well as Haruna Tsuruta and Alex Bourguignon.
