Women's golf preview: Youth and weather provide challenges as women golfers prepare for their second tournament

The women’s golf team teed off spring season on Feb. 12 at the Gold Rush Tournament at El Dorado Golf Course in Long Beach, California

With their next tournament slated to begin March 14, the Zags are looking to improve upon their slow performance at the Gold Rush Tournament. In the break between the fall and spring seasons, it can often be difficult for teams to remain conditioned to the grueling length of tournaments. The Gonzaga golfers are currently trying to readjust to playing in competition.

“I feel like our team has a lot of potential and for the first tournament we needed to get into that grind of 36 holes, which we weren’t quite used to coming from winter break,” sophomore Jessica Mangrobang said.
