Freshman business major Francesca Santoni started playing golf in high school. After years of hard work, Santoni’s golf career would result in a number of changes: the first being a new high school in Rome, and a move to Spokane.
Santoni spent her childhood in Torbole Sul Garda, a lakeside village on the slopes of Monte Baldo in Italy. Although she now plays for the Gonzaga women’s golf team, growing up along the water meant Santoni participated in a variety of other sports before choosing the one that would bring her to GU.
“I played tennis for eight years and I would say, after golf, it’s my favorite,” Santoni said.
