Jill Barta is making West Coast Conference Player of the Week awards a monthly tradition.
For the third time this season, Barta was named WCC Player of the Week. She becomes the first Zag since Courtney Vandersloot in 2010-11 to win the award three times in one season. Stephanie Hawk garnered the honor five times in 2006-07, which currently stands as the program record.
Barta averaged 22.5 points, eight rebounds, two assists, 1.5 steals and one block in just 22.5 minutes of action last week as GU extended its winning streak to 12 games with victories over Portland and San Francisco.
