Jevon Small poured in 19 points and helped key a decisive run in the second half as West Virginia defeated struggling Mercyhurst 67-46 on Sunday afternoon in Morgantown, W.Va. West Virginia (9-2) was up by 13 points at the break, but the Lakers trimmed their deficit to eight about five minutes into the second half. The Mountaineers then reeled off 16 straight points, five by Small, to take control. Mercyhurst went more than eight minutes without a field goal and shot just 22.2 percent from the floor after halftime. Eduardo Andre added 14 points for the Mountaineers, while Toby Okani scored 13 points and took 12 rebounds.
