The West Coast Conference announced their award selections on Tuesday. Gonzaga, as expected, swept them all. Rui Hachimura was named player of the year, Brandon Clarke was dubbed defensive player of the year and newcomer of the year, and of course, Mark Few was named Coach of the Year.
It was nearly impossible for Coach Few to select between Rui and Clarke as his team nomination for player of the year, and there were rumblings that perhaps the two of them would split the award. In the end, it was Hachimura who came away with the honors. The Julius Erving Award finalist averaged 20.
