KNOXVILLE — There is no shortage of change when it comes to Tennessee’s defensive line. Not only does the unit have to adapt to a new coaching staff, just like the rest of the team, but the group is trying to grasp a defense that is much different than the one it ran a year ago.
First-year UT head coach Jeremy Pruitt brought with him a 3-4 scheme, meaning the Vols will use three defensive linemen and four linebackers out of their base defense, forcing several players to shift positions.
