BLACKSBURG – For the first time in the three seasons Justin Fuente has been Virginia Tech’s football coach, the team will start spring practice with a returning starter at quarterback. Whether or not the Hokies end spring with the same player behind center apparently remains to be seen.
Redshirt sophomore Josh Jackson started all 13 games last season, but when practice opens Saturday, he’ll be sharing time with redshirt freshman Hendon Hooker and junior Ryan Willis, a transfer from Kansas who sat out last season.
“Sure, if we played tomorrow, Josh would be our starter,” Fuente said Monday.
