“The Final Five” were joined by the U.S. men’s gymnastics team, rhythmic team, trampoline team and even past Olympians Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin and Jordyn Wieber. The Olympians took turns captivating the nearly 5,000 strong audience, including Gonzaga students who were given a reason to love a sport they cannot see on campus.
“It was easily one of the best sporting events I’ve ever been to,” sophomore Aaron Lovchik said.
The fast-paced night was composed of high-flying, acrobatic routines from each Olympian, separated by inspiring video displays. The men demonstrated their incredible strength hanging from Olympic rings suspended in mid-air, while the women performed grace-filled routines, all to the tune of music ranging from the ‘70s to now.
