Gonzaga beat South Carolina 77-73 in the National Semifinals in the University of Phoenix Stadium on April 1, 2017.
So it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Gonzaga and the University of North Carolina, two No. 1 seeds battling it out for the rights to be the only one standing after six rounds of NCAA tournament play.
Well, it is sort of surprising because this is only the eighth time in NCAA tournament history that the final two teams are No. 1 seeds (1982, 1993, 1999, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2015).
As the sun sets on this college basketball season, there is still one more game to play as the blue-blood takes on the former mid-major.
