Former five-star wideout Johntay Cook is no longer with No. 5 Texas, coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed Thursday. The 6-foot sophomore from DeSoto, Texas, is moving on after 20 games with the Longhorns in what Sarkisian called a mutual decision. "We have nothing but respect for he and his family," Sarkisian said during a videoconference. "We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors." Cook was the No. 3 wideout and No. 29 player nationally by the 247Sports composite in the Class of 2023. Cook last played in the Oct. 12 win against rival Oklahoma. He caught eight passes for 137 yards and two scores in six games this season for the Longhorns (7-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference).
