Bill Snyder announced a trio of changes to Kansas State's defensive coaching staff Friday.
Snyder, entering his 27th season as K-State's head football coach this fall, announced defensive coordinator Tom Hayes retired. Linebackers coach Blake Seiler was promoted to replace Hayes, and the Wildcats hired Tulsa safeties coach Brian Norwood as defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator.
Hayes, who guided the Wildcats' defense the past six seasons, coached at nine different Division I schools and was a part of two NFL staffs in a career that spanned more than 40 years. He will remain with the Wildcats as a quality control coach until his contract ends in April.
