SMU on target from long range in blowout win over Stanford

Kario Oquendo shot a perfect game en route to 16 points, SMU made 50 percent of its 3-pointers and the Mustangs wasted little time separating themselves from visiting Stanford in an 85-61 Atlantic Coast Conference shellacking on Saturday night. Samet Yigitoglu had 17 points and Matt Cross 16 for the Mustangs (17-5, 8-3), who scored 34 of the game's first 45 points and coasted to their third-most lopsided victory of the ACC season. Maxime Raynaud managed an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Cardinal (15-7, 7-4), who saw a four-game winning streak come to a screeching halt. Raynaud hit a pair of shots, including a 3-pointer, as the Cardinal played the hosts evenly into the game's fifth minute before the Mustangs took control.
