The Saints have claimed linebacker Jonathan Freeny off waivers from the New England Patriots.
The team waived cornerback Sterling Moore as the corresponding move.
Freeny appeared in four games this season, three with the Baltimore Ravens and one with the New England Patriots. A former undrafted free agent out of Rutgers, he spent his first three seasons with the Miami Dolphins and the last two in New England.
His best season came in 2015 when he notched 50 tackles and one sack. He also brings value on special teams.
Moore has bounced on and off the roster this season and was serving as depth at cornerback.
