The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers now know exactly what's at stake when they kick off against each other in the wild card round at 3:40 p.m. Sunday in the Superdome.
By virtue of Atlanta's 26-13 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night, the fourth-seeded Saints and fifth-seeded Panthers are playing for the right to take on the No. 2 seed Minnesota Vikings at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14.
The NFL re-seeds after the first round, and the sixth-seeded Falcons are headed to play the No. 1 seed Philadelphia Eagles next Saturday, leaving the Saints-Panthers winner to make the trip to Minnesota.
