Fox Sports reported that Rodgers flew to New Jersey and met with Jets brass, where the quarterback was informed he doesn't figure into the plans of a new general manager and coaching staff. NFL Network, without confirming the report, said "this appears to be the direction it's heading." Rodgers joined the Jets amid much fanfare ahead of the 2023 season but suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the opener. Last season, he rebounded to start all 17 games but the Jets finished only 5-12.
