Nebraska added its second safety from Mansfield (Texas) High School in four days Tuesday morning when Corbin Frederick announced on Twitter he would be joining the Huskers as a preferred walk-on.
"Thank you to everyone who has played a role in this process, it's over!" the 5-foot-11, 195-pounder tweeted, adding a "#GBR" along with a skull and crossbones emoji.
Frederick chose NU over scholarship offers from Navy and San Diego, and also had a walk-on option at Ole Miss. He becomes the 16th known walk-on in the Huskers' 2018 class and first from outside the state.
The Huskers received a commitment Saturday from Frederick's teammate, consensus four-star safety Cam'ron Jones, during a televised ceremony in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
