There were a few areas of Bowling Green's football team that could have pointed the Falcons' season in a different direction in 2017.
Nobody would disagree that if the defense would have been the least bit competent, at least a few games could have been swayed in a different direction.
Penalties also played a large role in holding the Falcons back. They had eight touchdowns called back last season, according to head coach Mike Jinks. This spring, penalties and turnovers have been two of the primary focuses of the team.
It was evident Saturday.
For the second straight week, Jinks had officials on site for Bowling Green's scrimmage.
