Longtime Patriots center David Andrews was released on Thursday after 10 seasons in New England. Andrews, 32, has been a starter since he arrived as an undrafted free agent in 2015. The Georgia product won two Super Bowls with the Patriots but played only four games last season because of season-ending shoulder surgery. Franchise owner Robert Kraft said in a team statement confirming the move that Andrews was a "shining example" of what every NFL prospect strives to become. "His leadership, work ethic, and dedication to the team earned him the respect and admiration of his coaches and teammates, who elected him as an eight-time team captain," Kraft said.
