GREEN BAY — Mark Murphy still believes the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers will reach an accord on a new contract for the two-time NFL MVP and face of their franchise.
And, Murphy said Monday, he remains hopeful that the 34-year-old Rodgers’ career in Green Bay — whenever it ends — won’t end with the acrimony that his predecessor Brett Favre’s did a decade ago.
“There’s no question that (the summer of 2008) was a pretty memorable time, I would say,” Murphy said during an interview session with a small group of reporters following the team’s usual sharing of its financial report ahead of the annual shareholders meeting, which is set for July 25 this year.
