Kyler Murray’s career as an Oklahoma full-time quarterback remains a mystery, but one career path has opened up for the talented two-sport athlete.
On Monday night, Murray was drafted with the ninth overall pick by the Oakland Athletics.
Murray’s season ended with Monday’s NCAA Regional loss to Mississippi State. He didn’t play in the last two weekends (Big 12 or postseason) after suffering a hamstring injury. He hit .296 with 10 home runs and 47 RBIs.
According to MLB.com, the ninth overall pick's value is $4.8 million.
So what happens next?
Oklahoma football coach Lincoln Riley hasn’t seemed concerned about a professional baseball distraction.
