NORMAN – Carson Meier smiled when he was reminded how long he’s been a part of the Oklahoma football program.
“Five years,” Meier said following a recent practice. “Man, I’m getting old. It’s been a fun ride, so I’m excited about it.”
The senior is working toward replacing the versatile Dimitri Flowers at the fullback spot. He’s pairing up with Jeremiah Hall at the important position within OU’s offense.
He’s not the only fifth-year senior competing against a redshirt freshman for a starting position. Jonathan Alvarez -- who redshirted last season -- is on the depth chart at center with Creed Humphrey.
