Nate Hybl remembers nearly every detail of his final appearance in an Oklahoma football jersey.
Fifteen years ago, the former Sooners quarterback was the Rose Bowl MVP after guiding his team to a 34-14 win over Washington State. It was Oklahoma’s first and only visit to the iconic bowl game.
“To leave an OU-branded mark in (southern California) felt good,” Hybl said earlier this week. “I remember the OU fans chanting in the stands after the game. All the Oklahomans who made the trip were really proud.”
OU will make its second appearance to Pasadena when it faces Georgia in a College Football Playoff national semifinal game on New Year’s Day.
