The last time Oklahoma State was picked to finish as low as fifth in the Big 12, it entered August without a designated starting quarterback.

Well ... the Cowboys haven't named a starter for this fall, either.

And like in 2014, Oklahoma State was picked to be a middle-of-the-pack team in 2018.

The Cowboys did not receive a first-place vote and were chosen fifth by 52 members of the media in the preseason media poll released on Thursday.

Oklahoma received 46 of 52 first-place votes and is the preseason favorite for the third consecutive season.
