Notebook: Wyoming football not using spring for official visits

LARAMIE — The effects of college football’s early signing period, first implemented last year, are numerous and might take years to gauge. For instance, Wyoming football signed 20 players in December and as a result has more early enrollees than usual in camp this spring.

Another component of the new rule is that teams can hold official visits for high school juniors starting in April. Wyoming, however, will not be making use of that new option, head coach Craig Bohl said.

“The option is there, and that was put about by a lot of the student-athletes,” Bohl said.
