Kam Jones posted an 18-point, 10-assist double-double to lead four double-digit scorers for No. 8 Marquette on the way to a 78-50 blowout win over host Providence on Tuesday night.
Jones scored 14 of his points in the first half as the Golden Eagles (12-2, 3-0 Big East) put the game well out of reach in the first half, building a 27-point halftime lead that ballooned to as many as 32.
A 21-0 run across six-plus minutes put the Golden Eagles ahead 28-10. Marquette shot 52.9 percent from the floor in the opening period while holding Providence to 27.
