Michigan DT Maurice Hurst was diagnosed with a heart condition at the NFL scouting combine and won't participate in drills as he awaits further testing next week, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday.
The redshirt senior whom PFW Draft expert Greg Gabriel projects as a second-round pick was cleared leaving Michigan but could have a similar condition to the one that was discovered in the New Orleans Saints' Nick Fairley last year, a source told NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Fairley was a former first-round pick whose condition wasn't detected at the combine or by the Detroit Lions, who drafted him 13th overall in 2011.
