As turquoise confetti scattered the hardwood floor of Orleans Arena on Tuesday night, Andrew Nembhard hoisted the West Coast Conference tournament MVP trophy after his Gonzaga Bulldogs were crowned champions once again. The senior put up 19 points and seven assists, including countless clutch plays late, in GU’s 82-69 victory over the Saint Mary’s Gaels.
“That’s just a great win for our guys,” GU head coach Mark Few said. “That’s a really good team we beat and I’m really proud of our guys, especially how we responded after losing the last one [against Saint Mary’s] in the regular season.
