MU softball makes up for missing SEC tourney it hosted by landing in WCWS

Despite not qualifying for the SEC Tournament it hosted the past few days, the Missouri softball team was selected Sunday for the NCAA Women's College World Series and will open play in Norman, Oklahoma.

The Tigers will face Tulsa in the Norman Regional at 3:30 p.m. Friday in a section of the bracket that features two-time defending national champion and overall fourth seed Oklahoma, where former Tigers pitcher Paige Lowary now plays. The host Sooners face Boston University on the other side of the double-elimination regional bracket.

For the second straight season, the SEC put all 13 teams in the WCWS.
