GREEN BAY — Mike McCarthy wasn’t about to name a starting running back in late March. Especially when the Green Bay Packers coach has seen the position plagued by injury issues the past two seasons.
So when asked at the annual coaches breakfast at last week’s NFL meetings which of his running backs — Ty Montgomery, Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams or Devante Mays — was his starter at this point, McCarthy took the opportunity to emphasize how important availability is to their depth chart location.
“I just want them all to stay healthy and continue to grow,” McCarthy said.
