The Saints had one of the most impressive NFL draft classes in 2017, yielding a handful of names that proved to be big difference makers in their run to the NFC Championship game. But it definitely helped that New Orleans had five first round draft picks, that's not the case this year.
General Manager Mickey Loomis was out at LSU Pro Day on Wednesday and he says the team is still in the information-gathering phase. After adding the rookie of the year tandem of Alvin Kamara and Marcus Lattimore, plus Ryan Ramcyzk and Marcus Williams, Loomis said there's no pressure for them to repeat the kind of success they had last year
This time around, New Orleans only has two picks in first three rounds and Loomis knows they'll have to be smart with their selections.
