Led by redshirt junior Josh Perkins’ game-high 20 points, the 18th-ranked Zags knocked off Texas Southern 97-69 in the McCarthey Athletic Center on Friday night to win their 14th straight regular season-opener. The Bulldogs put on a well-rounded performance as five different players scored in double figures.
“[This team] is very balanced and we look for each other,” redshirt senior Johnathan Williams said, who added 16 points in Friday's win. “We’re not selfish players and we’re just trying to make each other better.”
“Scoring 97 points in your first game [means] this is a scary group of guys,” Perkins said.
