With under two minutes to play and No. 1 Gonzaga University in the midst of an unanswered scoring run against the University of San Francisco, freshmen center Chet Holmgren blocked a shot, grabbed the rebound and fired a pass down court to set up junior forward Drew Timme with a dunk, giving the Zags a 20-point lead.
Holmgren looked unstoppable in GU’s (15-2, 4-0) 78-62 win over USF (15-4, 2-2) on Thursday, finishing with 22 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
“Chet was big tonight, he made all kinds of plays on offense and defense,” said GU Head Coach Mark Few.
