Gonzaga's Zach Norvell Jr. was slotted as one of 20 players on the Jerry West Award Watch List Tuesday, annually presented to the top shooting guard in Divison I basketball.
As a redshirt freshman, Norvell averaged 12.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game, earning the West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year Award. During the second round of the NCAA Tournament, he logged 28 points and 12 rebounds — both career highs — in a 90-84 win over Ohio State.
By mid-February, 10 semifinalists will be announced and players can work their way on and off the list throughout the year.
