BOISE, Idaho — Four minutes into the Gonzaga men’s basketball team’s Round of 32 matchup against Ohio State, the Buckeyes called timeout and the arena, full of GU blue and red, were on their feet making one forget that the game was in fact in Boise, Idaho, not Spokane.
That standing ovation was due to the fact that GU had opened the game on a 13-0 run. And they did not slow down from there — beating the Buckeyes 90-84, advancing to the Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive year.
“Any win in the NCAA Tournament, I think, is the hardest thing you do,” GU head coach Mark Few said.
