Backup cornerback and special-teams standout Sherrick McManis will continue to reign as the longest-tenured Bear after agreeing to a two-year deal Thursday.
McManis was originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Houston Texans out of Northwestern in 2010 but came to the Bears in a trade for fullback Tyler Clutts just before the start of the 2012 regular season.
In each of his six seasons with the Bears, McManis has finished in the top three in special teams tackles. He tied with Benny Cunningham for first last year with 12 and added a blocked field goal and a fumble recovery.
