A jury trial for LSU offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell never happened Monday as scheduled.
Campbell, instead, accepted a plea deal. He pleaded guilty to battery, as a first-time offender, for his arrest in 2016, a case manager at the Fulton County State Court in Atlanta told The Advocate on Tuesday.
Campbell, a junior from Ponchatoula, will serve 12 months of probation, 100 hours of community service, eight hours of anger management and must pen two letters of apology to the victims, said Evelyn Clark, judicial case manager for the presiding judge, Susan Edlein.
Campbell was charged with two counts of battery, both misdemeanors, connected to a fight at a Georgia Tech fraternity house during LSU's open week in October of 2016.
