After not making the opening night roster for the Los Angeles Lakers, Johnathan Williams still has an opportunity to suit up for Laker Nation during the regular season and possibly see some time on the court. The Lakers signed J3 to a two-way contract which means he can play a certain amount of games with the Los Angeles Lakers and the rest of the season with the Lakers’ G-League team, the South Bay Lakers. UCLA alum, Travis Wear, was waived after J3 was placed on a two-way contract.
Each NBA team can have 2 two-way contracts which, in total, gives 60 more basketball players a chance to see time on the court during a regular season NBA game.
