Freshman Joson Sanon made five 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 21 points to lead Arizona State to an 87-76 victory over Grand Canyon on Thursday night at Phoenix. Arizona State (3-1) has won three consecutive games against local rival Grand Canyon (2-1) over the last five seasons. Sanon made 8 of 12 shots from the field, 5 of 7 from the beyond the 3-point arc. Arizona State's Basheer Jihad, a Ball State transfer, made 4 of 5 shots from the field while going 9 of 11 at the free-throw line to finish with 18 points. Jihad finished with five assists, matching Alston Mason, who scored 16 points.
