Bowling Green State University football coach Mike Jinks announced the hiring of DeJon Gomes to be the Falcons' new cornerbacks coach on Wednesday.
Gomes is the fourth new defensive coach to join the coaching staff this offseason, along with defensive coordinator Carl Pelini, defensive line coach Jimmy Williams and secondary coach LaMarcus Hicks.
Gomes replaces Mike Mickens, who took a a job with Kent State before heading to Cincinnati.
A defensive back under Pelini at Nebraska, Gomes comes to Bowling Green after spending last season as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan.
Gomes spent three years in the NFL, playing for the Washington Redskins and the Detroit Lions.
