Gonzaga Bulldogs senior Jill Townsend was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List on Tuesday. The award goes out annually to the top shooting guard in women’s college basketball each year.
Expectations are running high for the Zags this year. The team just opened the preseason ranked No. 21 by the AP, the highest preseason ranking in school history. The Zags will go as far as Townsend takes them this season. She is the primary scoring option for Gonzaga. Last season, she averaged 12.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, shooting 41.1 percent from long range in the process.
