Jaron Pierre Jr. led the way with 30 points as Jacksonville State went into Atlanta and dominated No. 4 seed Georgia Tech 81-64 on Tuesday in the opening round of the NIT. Marcellus Brigham Jr. chipped in 16 points and Jao Ituka had 14 for Jacksonville State (23-12), which will face either No. 1 seed UC Irvine or Northern Colorado in this weekend's second round. Pierre shot 11 of 18 from the field - 5 of 10 from 3-point range -- and also contributed seven assists and three steals. As a team, the Gamecocks knocked down half of their 30 3-point attempts and shot nearly 52 percent from the floor overall.
