Mario Verduzco is introduced with the rest of the Nebraska football staff during a Husker basketball game last month at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
ELSIE STORMBERG/THE WORLD-HERALDLINCOLN — A week out of the office successfully pulled my mind from Nebraska football, but a 70-minute phone chat — just before the staycation — with new Husker quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco lingered in a good way.
Verduzco talked music, philosophy, faith, science, parenting and, yes, quarterback play. That last topic is one of his life’s passions — a “mission.”
“From the moment my mom taught me how to throw a ball, I fell in love with the game and in love with playing the position,” Verduzco said.
